Frequently asked questions

Common questions about SkipToDate.

Is SkipToDate a dating app or speed dating?+
Both. You browse and filter people online first, then meet your Potential Matches through organized in-person events.
Do I have to message people first?+
No. SkipToDate has no in-app messaging. If you both want to meet, you can meet through an event.
Will I have to talk to random people?+
No. The app only schedules dating conversations with people you previously chose and who chose you too.
Do I have to attend every event?+
No. Mark events you might be available for and set the minimum number of Potential Matches you need before you're willing to commit.
What happens if people don't show up?+
SkipToDate tracks reliability. People who repeatedly commit and fail to attend receive lower priority in future event planning.
How many people will I meet?+
You choose your maximum. For example, you could say you're willing to attend if at least 3 Potential Matches are there, but don't want to meet more than 5.
What does a Match mean?+
A Match happens after you've already met in person. Both people indicated that they genuinely want to date each other, and the matching system paired them.
Can I get multiple Matches?+
No. SkipToDate gives each person at most one Match from an event.
Does a Match mean we're exclusive?+
Not necessarily in your personal lives. But while you're dating a SkipToDate Match, both profiles are paused within SkipToDate. You can't browse or attend additional dating events.
Is SkipToDate for hookups?+
No. SkipToDate is specifically designed for people looking for long-term relationships.
How much does it cost?+
Creating a profile and browsing is planned to be free. You pay when attending a SkipToDate event. Pricing may vary by community and venue.
When does Da Nang launch?+
Soon. Join the waitlist and we'll contact you when the Da Nang community is ready.
